About 6 months ago I was out with a japanese client of mine who was in town. We finished dinner and I was thinking we would hit one of the usual haunts afterwards. He suggested that we go to a “piano” bar. I had heard of these japanese hostess bars before, but for whatever reason it never struck me as something particularly fun or desirable. Big deal.
