“Jackie” The Wellington Papers’ first single is an archetypical love song… Unrequited. Follow HB as he pines for love lost, but finds an optimistic, if unresolved outcome. These lyrics, soaring over funky chops laid down by Lex verlock (guitar) and Doc Klein (Bass), make for good listening .. again and again…
The Wellington Papers came together naturally and out of necessity. A loose collective led by HB Wellington and Lex Verlock, The Wellington Papers make music that reflects the adventures, misadventures, and influences of growing up and living in New York City. Having come up through many of Gotham’s sub-cultures, The Wellington Papers combined experiences in graf, skate, streetwear, and clubs with their love of hip hop, punk, & surf rock, to create their own sound–a snapshot, a feeling that captures New York’s downtown restless energy after dark. It’s sophisticatedly raw, hauntingly romantic and most importantly, it’s not bound by rules, it’s free.
